Hey Everyone, 


My Email is late because we had to work over memorial day, so our P-day is today.


 This last week has been really slow and full of cancellations. We only got to teach like 2 times this week. We have been trying to see less active and potentials and they are either never home or they are home and don't answer the door. This one lady was out on her porch and saw us driving up so she went inside and turned on the tv and closed the door. She acted like she wasn't home...haha. And we could see her in the house. I dont know what it is about some people!! 


We did get some head way with the Westons. They are letting us come over and help them paint Thursday at noon so maybe they will get to know us more.  Then we can get to know them and it will make them want to come to church! They say they are just really busy right now and that's why they are not coming but I think it might be something else. 


But really other than that we have only been tracking and getting doors closed in our face!  It was kind of a depressing week haha :( but it has been like that in the whole mission I guess, so we will just shake it off and keep going! I love you all and miss you tons!!

Hey everyone,

This week was good we had a lesson with Bob and Sherry and with the Kennaches. They both went good but not so good! let me explain!

We went to Bob and Sherry's and she told us that she didn't think this church is right for her and that she has really liked us to come in her home so she could feel the spirit. But she said that us coming over has just made her faith stronger in the Catholic church! Weired huh! But anyway, I told her that I think she feels that way because when she thinks of religion or the spirit she thinks of growing up in the Catholic church and that's where she goes to get more of it. And if she will read the Book of Mormon and start coming to church and follow the commandments she will know that this is the one and only true church! So she said she would give it a try but we will see what really happens! 

Then at the kennaches we just kinda talked outside about random stuff. Patrick is a really funny guy and we just talked for a while and we got a on date for Kristine again!  Its going to be on June 9th. They said they didn't want to wait any longer and she needs to be baptized so this should be a pretty solid date!

Elder Brown and I went trackting and we took some funny pics and stuff at peoples houses that weren't home it was really fun. 

Something cool that happened this week was we found a guy who is a JDUB and he took a Book of Mormon and said he is not interested but he would read it anyway!  And he said you never know maybe something in this book will change my mind!! So we will go see what he thought of it in a week or two!

Hey Everyone,
This week was really good!! Not only because I got to talk to my family for mothers day but because we had some good lessons and it has been a really fun week! 

First, we have been trying to still get Kristine back on date but they keep canceling on us.  And now Patrick has to work nights so he is sleeping all day, so it even harder to get in there! 

We had a good lesson with the Maxes. We read about baptism and how its not the end but its the start on the path for eternal life.  They agreed to everything we were telling them, but they still won't get baptized, so I am still trying to figure out what they need to take the next step! 

Our teaching pool is starting to go down now that it is starting to get into summer because everyone is busy or they just don't want to hear form us.  It's kinda frustrating but we will always keep trying! 

Some funny/cool things that have happened in the last week!

-I told a guy that if could out drive him with a 7 iron then he should come to church next Sunday and I did! :) so we will see if he shows up!

-We were watching two kids fight with wooden swords and one was chasing after the other and his pants fell down as he was running and tripped haha.

-Some kid was talking to one of our members and as we were walking up to talk to them he said "oh no here come the tuxedo people"!! Then he asked for a Book of Mormon! 

Everything is going great we are trying to keep up the work as best as we can and I love you all!

Elder Stubbs

Hey Everyone!

This week I shipped off my old companion and got a new one! His name is Elder Stubbs. He is From Ceder City Utah......ya another one from Utah!  He has been out for 13 months. 

The first day Elder Stubbs came to Plummer we went to see Angelita, she has had all kinds of problems in her life. We are trying to work them all out but its not so easy! She told us she was going to come to church this Sunday, but when her ride showed up she was crying and said she was not going. So we have to go see what was going on over there. 

We have been trying to meet with Kristine again so we can set a date to be baptized but she is so tired and busy with the baby and Patrick is busy at work, they can never find a moment to sit down. 

We have not been out to the Maxes yet this week ether. They said they were busy too so I'm hoping this next week people will start to calm down and we can teach them!

We have been starting to teach Branden again this week he is a cool guy and understands the Book Of Mormon he just can quit smoking! Almost everyone has a word of wisdom problem on the reservation and it is a pain in the butt! 

That's everything that has happened this week that is worth telling about so I will see you all next week then :)

Hey Everyone,

 

So it was transfers this week and I am staying in Plummer once again, but I cant say the same for Elder Nelson. He is packing up and moving on after being here for almost 8 months. My new companion is going to be Elder Stubs. 

 This week was really good, Elder Nelson wanted to say goodbye to everyone so we didn't have a lot of non member lessons, but the ones we did have went really really good! This week with Bob and Sherry Max we talked about the Holy Ghost and how they will know when the find out the church is true. When Sherry came to church last week the lesson was on the priesthood and she found out that Elder Nelson and I had the priesthood.  She asked us for a blessing and so we gave her a blessing and she started crying. Then after we gave Bob a blessing she started crying harder! We were waiting for her to just say I want to be baptized, but she never did. :( I know she knows the church is true and she just needs to jump in to it and she will love every minute of it! She just does not want to let go of her Catholic background.

That was my big story for this letter but I have a lot of cool little stories or things that have happened so here they are!

Kristine is still recovering from her baby Walela (wich means humming bird in Indian), she still wants to get baptized, I just hope her husband will keep the word of wisdom and still be able to baptize her.

We baptized Rachel this last Friday and she was so happy and excited it was really cool to watch!!

One of our members drew our mission president doing a thumbs up. he can't lift his thumb up off his hand when he does it so its really funny.

Elder Brown and I went on exchanges and took some really cool pictures and found a gas mask!

I got picture of the cutest Indian baby you will ever see her name is Khloe and she love the missionaries!

Elder Nelson and I were working on something for mothers day but now I don't think it will be done in time so me and Elder Stubs will make a new one. But it might not be in time for mothers day but we will surely try!

A really good week!!

This week was really good!! Sherry Max came to church this Sunday.  That was a big deal because she is really Catholic and she is having a hard time leaving it.  She liked it and she really loves that we have the priesthood and can give blessings.  She wants one soon she said, so that's really cool. 

Speaking of blessings...I gave my first blessing the other day! It was to a little kid named Luca, who had to go the the hospital from asthma.  As soon as we got done with the blessing his brother says "is he healed?" haha  Then Luca said "yes, now I'm all better", it was cool he is a awesome kid. 

Kristine had her baby, her name is Walela. It means humming bird in Indian. She is a cute little girl. 

We have been doing a lot of knocking on doors to try to find people. As we were knocking down this street, these people were having a BBQ and invited us to eat and play washers with them so we did.  It was really fun. It was the mail Lady's house. She really likes us, we told her she needs to start bringing us some more mail.  She said she would start writing us and making her daughters write us haha. 

Transfers are next Sunday so I find out if I'm staying or going but it think I will stay here for a little bit.

Conkling Bay

Hey Everyone,

This week was very good! The first of the week we went up to Conkling Bay and knocked on some doors. Everyone there is really nice, so we will have to do that more. It is also very beautiful there. It's a big lake with trees everywhere. After that, we went to the boat races this week.  We went around at talked to a lot of people. There were more members there than I tought there would be, so it was really cool. This one kid was walking past us and he said "look they are officers" then he looked at us and said "wait what are you guys"?  haha. He was about 7. It was a really good time to walk around and talk to a bunch of people, and it was really cool to see boats with Corvette engines in them and helicopter turbines. It was crazy to see them fly down the river.

On a more spiritual note, we had a amazing church tour and lesson with Sherry Max. She said she would give up coffee for ten days and she would come to church this Sunday!  I can't believe it! It is really cool to see how people change because of the Book of Mormon, it is crazy! Kristine (she is the Prego one) will probably end up moving her baptism date because its on the 21st, and she is going to have her baby on the 20th so that might be a problem. 

We are two weeks from transfers and I think I will stay in Plummer. But I think Elder Nelson will go somewhere else, he has been here for 7 months so its time for him to leave. 

OH and we found mold in our apartment so it looks like we will be moving so if anyone knows of a place in plummer let us know ;)

Easter!!!!

Hey Everyone,

Happy Easter! For Easter we went and had dinner at the Campbell's.  It was amazing, she is a really good cook. We didn't spend a lot of time there because we wanted to teach people on Easter.  So we went to a few less active members houses and had some good lessons. This week we have had a lot of lessons.  They were all good but the one that was the best was with the Maxes and we watched a movie on Joseph Smith.  Sherry thinks Joseph made everything up because she reads a lot of anti Mormon books. After the movie she was starting to give in and accept that he is not a bad guy. She also had a problem with men holding the priesthood, but she told us she had personal revelation and she said it was ok for the men to be the head of the house hold and hold the priesthood. Bob said "well that still doesn't make me boss haha".  He is a funny guy. That whole time we were over there after sherry told him he was the head of the house, he would do something and she would get mad at him so he would just say "its ok I'm head of the house hold now hahaha".

I went on splits with one of the Elders from Saint Marie's.  We found out that there is going to be jet boat races next week so that will be really cool to see!  I will get pics form that and send them. Sorry my last couple emails have been short nothing crazy or funny has happened in the past weeks but the boat races should bring some good stories.

Conference

Hey Everyone,

This week we watched conference with Bob and Serry Max.  They are non-members and they loved it so that is really good.  I hope they get baptized.  We watched the sunday conference with the Mokrys.  They are members, and they are awsome. 

The weather this week has been really really rainy!  The streets have been flooding!  It rained for about 5 days straight.  It has been really cool to see, but our appartment has a some stuff wrong with it so we are trying to find a new place to live.  There is a member in the ward who owns a huge house so we might be able to move in to that, and that would be way cool!  It has a gym and a ping pong table and she is a way good cook. 

We have been running low on people to teach so we have been doing a lot of knocking on doors and contacting old investigaters.  I'm really hoping that the work will pick up soon. Sorry I couldn't write much this week, but i've got to go.

Elder Peterson the Singer!!

Hey Everyone,

There was not a lot that happened this week. It has been pretty slow, but we did have some good lessons. We talked to Pat and Kristine about the word of wisdom.  Then we invited them to try to be clean for 10 days and to see how much better they feel. After they said they would try it Pat just stood up and walked to his room and brought back his cigarettes, and he gave them to us. So he is really trying to quit and Kristine is prego so she is not really smoking any ways, so hopefully it will be really easy for them.

Last Saturday we went to a members house for dinner,  it was really fun.  After it was over the wife got up and handed us two paper bags and said follow me! So we did, and she took us down stairs to their food storage and said go shopping! She filled both bags up with all kinds of food! It was awesome so now we have food for the next two years! haha

We have a lesson with Bob Max tonight and we are going to invite him to be Baptized, and we are hoping he says yes because he knows the church is true.  I just don't think he knows it yet. The last lesson we had with them, his wife brought up where the gold plates are and why we don't have them, and Bob said "well where are the ten commandments"? haha And then she brought up polygamy and he defended the church on that!  So he is a really awesome guy.

But other than that we really had a week of cancellations and we did a lot of driving around and when you drive around long enough you start to sing in the car and when you sing in the car long enough you make videos of it so............ya here it is!!
